Event Overview
Hosted by Equinor and Artemeter and moderated by Julie McLaughlin, this closed-door roundtable will explore how to make engineered, durable carbon removals (DAC, DOC, mineralization, biochar) investible at scale. The conversation will begin with a framing of the carbon removals market and the levers that matter most—demand creation, financing structures, and developer readiness. Participants will then examine where risk and timelines are misaligned, and what buyers, financiers, and developers each need in order to commit.
Rather than focusing on any single project, the session will zero in on business models: what contract structures and market innovations can unlock offtaker demand, reduce reputational and financial risk, and accelerate deployment of durable removals. With perspectives from global energy leaders and specialized carbon market investors, the goal is to move past familiar challenges and identify actionable ways to stimulate demand, align incentives, and bring durable carbon projects to bankable scale.
